The Dreadful Supreme Court Ruling

As you know the U. S. Supreme Court has ruled same-sex marriage to be legal in all 50 states. This horrendous decision continues and accelerates the spiritual and moral downward slide and spiral of our nation. Personally, I am afraid that this decision may mark the point of no return in our nation’s relationship with God. God is a kind, gracious, loving and longsuffering God but when a nation, or a person, persists in loving evil and living in rejection, rebellion and disobedience against God, the day of His judgment is inevitable. Truly, the only hope for America is repentance and revival. Make no mistake about it; this dreadful decision by the U.S. Supreme Court is a full frontal attack on biblical Christianity. This decision has made every Bible believing church and Christian in America targets for cultural persecution and legal prosecution. In light of this decision, what will our church do? As you know, last year our church approved a “Statement on Marriage and Sexuality” amendment to our church by-laws. Section 4 of that amendment states, “At no time, on no occasion and under no circumstance will the "marriage" or "commitment" ceremony of a male to a male, a female to a female or the "marriage" or "commitment" ceremony involving a "transgendered" person and/or any event or activity associated with such be allowed to occur inside the sanctuary and buildings which are owned, used or controlled by Whitewater Baptist Church, Inc., or anywhere on the property of the church.” In the next few weeks I will be presenting a “Church Facility Use Policy” that will offer further protection for our church from the perversion of so-called “gay marriage.” I am also working on other amendments to our church by-laws and church policies that will make our stand for traditional and biblical marriage absolutely clear. In closing, let me assure you that there will never come a day when I will perform a so-called gay or same sex wedding ceremony. The powers that be can throw me in jail and throw away the key but that will never happen. And, I can also assure you that such a ceremony will never take place in Whitewater Baptist Church as long as I am pastor. God loves homosexuals and He will save them if they repent and come to Christ, just as He will save all sinners. I and this church will continue to preach the gospel of grace and reach out to all sinners with God’s love but we will not compromise and we will not accept and celebrate what God’s Word calls evil, sin and perversion. See you Sunday, Bro. Chris
